Destin Harell, Wildlife Biologist with the Bureau of Land Management’s Cody Field Office, presents Prairie Dogs: Ecosystem Engineers at this free talk. The white-tailed prairie dog builds a foundation for the diverse sagebrush-steppe ecosystem of the Bighorn Basin, but are seen as either a pest or a keystone species depending on one’s perspective. Harrell discusses their status as both, and appropriate management of the species.
