Summer is here and the irrigation canals are once more flowing throughout the Big Horn Basin! How exactly do these canals work and how long have they been here? Who built them? Irrigation is just one of the many unique aspects of this area that has a rich history. On Thursday, June 9th at 6:30 p.m., Homesteader Museum Director, Brandi Wright will explore the history of the Garland Canal with a presentation at the Cody Library Grizzly Hall. In her talk, Wright will highlight all of the blood, sweat and water involved during the construction of the canal and its continued importance to the Big Horn Basin.
