Double Diamond X Ranch is a guest ranch near Yellowstone National Park and Cody, Wyoming. DDX is off the beaten path, located on the upper South Fork of the Shoshone River where the road ends at the base of the 12,000 foot Absaroka Mountains.
Double Diamond X Ranch is in need of some renovation and new construction. In 2022 events, and getaways will not be affected, and guests are most welcome to book their cabin accommodations! However, they will not be offering certain services in 2022 including dining, saloon (except during events), and horseback riding. They look forward to resuming in 2023 with a full suite of services!
The ranch is adjacent to the Washakie Wilderness Area of Shoshone National Forest, which is contiguous with Yellowstone National Park, providing a backyard of 3 million of the wildest, most scenic acres in North America. Seclusion is balanced with the convenience of year-round accessibility, being only 35 paved miles from the vibrant Western town of Cody.
The South Fork of the Shoshone River runs through DDX for about a mile. This stretch, fishable nearly year-round, is known for its brown trout, but you'll also pull in rainbow trout, Yellowstone cutthroat, and brook trout.
In winter, DDX is surrounded by the highest concentration of natural waterfall ice in the lower 48 states - this makes for a world-class ice climbing experience.
Double Diamond X Ranch - real West, real Wyoming, adventures unbound!
